The inspiration of this project initially stemmed from the aesthetic of Queen Marie Antoinette; re awakening fashion through historical movements. While researching her was specifically drawn to her statement Let Them Eat Cake, which inspired me to look as aspects of traditional cakes and patisseries to inform my designs. I looked at icing piping, textures, and the shapes of cakes, to mimic through pleating, various beading, and layering on my outfit. My chosen muse is Lily-Rose Depp due to her French heritage linking to this project; also since my hometown used to also be a French speaking and with links to the country I could also relate to this.
